California Privacy Notice
This California Privacy Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies solely to visitors and users who are California residents ("you" or "consumers"). It is provided to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the "CCPA") and the California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA").
Categories of personal information we collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from Site visitors who use our questionnaire:
- Identifiers — such as name, email address, telephone number, and IP address.
- Commercial information — such as your stated investment budget range and timeline, as provided in the questionnaire.
- Internet or other electronic network activity — such as pages viewed, time on Site, and general device/browser information collected via analytics tools.
- Inferences — such as which Partner you were matched with, based on your questionnaire responses.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 16 years of age, and the Site is intended only for users 18 years of age or older.
How we use personal information
We use the categories of personal information described above to: operate and improve the Site; match you with a Partner; share your information with that Partner (and, where you consent, other Partners) so they may contact you; respond to your inquiries; and comply with legal obligations. "Sale" and "sharing" of personal information
Under the CCPA, sharing certain identifiers (such as your name, email, or phone number) with our Partners so they can contact you about their own products may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, even though no money changes hands directly for your individual information. We also engage in interest-based advertising, which may also be considered a "share" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes under the CCPA.
You have the right to opt out of this sale/sharing at any time. To opt out: do not check any consent box presented at the time you submit the questionnaire, and/or click the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer of the Site, and/or email us at info@goldtrustpreciousmetals.com with the subject line "CA Opt-Out Request," or call us at 516.362.3623.
Opting out will not affect your ability to use the Site, though we may not be able to match you with a Partner if you decline to have your information shared with one.
Your California privacy rights
Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, or sold/shared about you, and request a copy of that information.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, to the extent we collect any (we do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, or similarly sensitive categories through the questionnaire).
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of your CCPA rights.
How to exercise your rights
To submit a request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, email us at info@goldtrustpreciousmetals.com or call 516.362.3623. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to our ability to verify that authorization.
Shine the Light
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83) permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year.
